Meet Dr. Jasmine Clark
Mother. Scientist. Truth Teller.
Rep. Dr. Jasmine Clark is a mom, microbiologist, and State Representative who found her passion for science and helping others at a young age. Inspired by her father, a doctor, and her mother, a nurse, she obtained a BS in Microbiology and PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Emory University where she now serves as an Assistant Professor.
In 2017, in the wake of Donald Trump’s first election, Jasmine recognized the need for a strong science voice in government and decided to run for a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives that had been in Republican hands for over 20 years. Despite facing a powerful incumbent Republican
who outspent her more than 2:1, Jasmine won. She defended the seat again in 2020, 2022, and 2024, even as Gov. Kemp re-drew her district to make it more competitive twice.
A native of Metro Atlanta and longtime resident of Lilburn, Jasmine is raising her daughter, Jayda, who attends Gwinnett County Public Schools, and her son, Jacobe, who is in college. She is a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Lilburn.
Now she’s running for Georgia’s 13th Congressional District to bring a science voice to Washington and to fight back against Donald Trump’s reckless agenda.
